And now vacation is over

We took a little vacation to the ocean.
While there, we crocheted hats for customers. We even had a customer while at the resort.

Now we have a little time to add new items to our shop - like these baby pillows
and these burp cloths. People are always asking for these.

Some Projects we're working on.

This is a custom lunch bag for a little boy.An apron for a customer

We're actually making 2 of these - dresses for ourselves. We like to match.

And of course, the couch that goes with the chair we finished. It's coming along much easier than the chair.

A Birthday Present

Here's our new work table in our store. Isn't it a wonderful birthday present from our brother? We are totally enjoying it.
And here is the finished chair. It has now gone home to it's happy owner. It was a good experience. We had a lot to work out with each other - not always easy. We are now working on the sofa, besides dresses, aprons, alterations, booties, scarfs etc. - All orders to get done before Christmas

Here's an apron we just finished for a customer. We are still working on smaller jobs as we work on our chair and sofa. Aprons are pretty fun and easy. And the fabrics you can use to make nice aprons is just wonderful. This customer wanted this style and any fabric black and white. It makes it fun to choose.

Working Hard

This is Victoria working on the cushion for the chair we are slipcovering. This is Veronica making the back look perfect with the arms. This chair has been a challenge, but we've had a friend upholsterer come and give us lots of tips for the trouble areas. It is all working out, even though many times we've been discouraged and disagreed etc. I think the owner will like it.
Our new work table getting coats of varethane. We have it in our house, because the garage and shop are too cold for the paint and varethane. But hopefully, we'll move it tonight.

We are now in the slipcover business. This is a muslin that we are doing for a fit for this chair. We want to have this perfect to use for a pattern for the real fabric. We also have a couch to do. Tomorrow an upholsterer friend will come and look at it and tell us how we are doing. I hope it looks good to her.For a break, we sit and knit hats for ourselves, unless customers come. We did have a good business day today.

Here we are playing Tabu on a great Thanksgiving evening. We had friends over, lots of food and games - a great time.We are very thankful for our family and friends. We also talked about how the reformation influenced the founding of America. We can be thankful that our country was a place that people could come and freely worship the Lord, and we can pray that it may remain that way.

What kind of job is this?

Here's another unusual job. We are making synth covers. There's a performance and it will be videotaped at a local school. The young children play synthesizers, so we are making covers so you can't see underneath them. Makes it look more professional. These took a while to figure out. Our mom taught us to miter, but she was thinking from the quilter's end working out. These needed to work in. A little different. So we had to make some changes.

Basketball Jerseys

Here I am hard at work resizing some basketball jerseys. They came too large and we are making them smaller for the coach. It's amazing some of the jobs we get. A lady who was checking out our shop referred him to us.

Birthday Party

Yesterday, we helped a friend of our with a birthday party.Quite a few little girls watching Dotty open her presents.
Then we helped the girls each sew a pillow. This is Crystal. Who's doing the work here? We've been giving several of them sewing lessons, so they don't do too bad.

It was a very fun party.
