A Snowy Day With Lots of Fun!

I woke up this morning to an inch of snow on the ground but shortly after it began snowing for pretty much the whole rest of the day. Vic and I started off the day with a brisk walk around the neighborhood inviting all the kids over for a play day and hot cocoa. Then we made Eloise her first snow outfit in about an hour. Around noon we had about 20 kids in our back yard having a blast in the snow, building forts, snowmen, having snowball fights and sledding around. Eloise even joined us for a little bit. I think the funnest part for the children was running around throwing snowballs at all of us "big kids". Naomi and Suzannah came over too and we made raspberry snow cones and had another snowball fight. All the kids wanted to stay longer, but we ended the day around 3:00pm. We went and got a coffee then taught our one faithful sewing class student of the day. The exciting snow day ended with scrabble at Nate and Louise's house. I'm so thankful the Lord blessed us with the wonderful snow just when we thought Spring was here :) I'll have to post my video when I am finished editing it.

I don't think she was quite sure what to do!

All the "older" girls of the bunch playin' together

This is definitely a typical Susie Ruth look. She didn't want to leave after so long!

Jeanne likes her shave ice!

It was much fun watchin' the girls push each other in the cars

It was so enjoyable to be with Daisy!

Philip was the best at sneaking up behind people and throwing snowballs

And there were wrestling matches

  2. That looks like a blllast!!! Playing on a winter's (or spring/winter) day couldn't get better than this!!! I mean- raspberry snow cones?!? Mmm-mmm!

On the winter suit for Ellie: one hour?!?

Similarly, I made (or "began" would be the more accurate term in this case) a lovely plum colored snow hat for Leanna. Although, I've never crocheted a hat or 'beanie' before for a real size person, the idea of it didn't seem at all complicated yesterday. By that same token, I proceeded with the fullest of full speed to make what would have been 'the-best-snow-hat-ever-made-in-one-day!'- oh ya. Seeing as it was the end of the day and the vision didn't materialize as I had thought however, I laid that plan to rest- for the present. The attempted 'one-day' project now sits in the corner of my room (where all the crochet supplies go) waiting, waiting, waiting... I'll have to get to it after work tonight :(
